As part of the TÜBİTAK Science Talks, Dr. Hande Çetin, a faculty member of the Department of English Language Education, met with students in four different cities and schools with her talk titled “Learning English as a Foreign Language: Why and How.”
The talks were held on March 4, 2026, at Vali Hüseyin Poroy Secondary School in Amasya; on April 1, 2026, at Etyemez Alparslan Gül Secondary School in Alaçam, Samsun; on April 6, 2026, at Dr. Devlet Bahçeli Secondary School in the central district of Çorum; and on April 10, 2026, at Şehit Sinan Bilir Secondary School in the central district of Tokat.
During the events, interactive discussions were held with students about the importance of learning English, effective learning strategies, and motivation in language learning. With the strong interest and participation of the students, the talks were completed in a productive and enjoyable atmosphere.
